I created and now manage/act as editor for this popular city listings and reviews site, covering art, music, theatre, film and events in the Cambridge area.

Deep Diving Men – Where are we Going? | 2014

DDM is an all-male theatre company that explores and challenges ideas and expectations of masculinity. I am currently working with the group to create a series of short videos/mini-documentary introducing their work.

Freelance Journalism (various) | 2012-Present

I write on social, cultural and political issues for a broad range of publications. Examples include coverage of the firefighter strike for Cambridge News, a tongue-in-cheek guide to breaking into the film industry for the Universal Film & Festival Organisation magazine, which has a readership of 1.6m filmmakers worldwide,  and articles on women in the creative arts for Fabiana, a political magazine focussing on female representation in government and business

Closure | 2014
Editor on this gorgeously shot, tragicomic short film about a man who becomes fixated on a mysterious woman in blue. Dir. Drew Meakin.

Creative Director at this award-winning production company, specialising in virtual studio technology, corporate communications video and virtual events.

New Religion | 2012
Co-Producer of this short comedy, directed by Cat Laine. A smart young troublemaker approaches his priest to pitch a new religion, its rules cherry-picked from the ones already out there, but with his own ideas (and heavy sarcasm) thrown into the mix. Currently in post-production.

Immortal Longings | 2012
Wrote, directed and edited this short horror film. Shy, studious bioscience grad student Cath is flattered to be invited out on a late night boat trip with ice queen classmate Emily and her cooler-than-thou friends. But Cath soon finds shes out of her depth when the group uncover a body in the river… that isn’t quite dead. As Cath struggles to keep control of a rapidly escalating nightmare, she begins to unravel a terrifying secret which threatens not only her career, but her chances of survival. Currently in post-production.

Editor & 1st AD on this comedy short.

Coven | 2012                                                   
2nd AD, Production Assistant and unexpectedly, a small supporting role in this feature length horror film. Cast includes Dexter Fletcher (Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Misfits) and Holly & Cloe Mackie (St. Trinians). Currently in post production.

Chaste | 2012
2nd AD on this ambitious, exquisitely shot short by students at Met Film School. Currently in post production.

Three Letter Word | 2011
Director & editor. A (very) short film about a girl who just can’t help saying ‘yes’.

Puppy Love | 2011
Director & editor. Entry into the Raindance/Directline ’40 second straight’ competition, which asked for 40 second suggestions on how a usually difficult/ complicated situation could be made wonderfully simple.

The Stowaway |2011
Director & editor. This 1 min short about a holiday romance was shortlisted for the prestigious MoFilm/ Chevrolet competition in 2011.

Stars & Stripes | 2011
Filmed and edited a series of videos from the Stars & Stripes music festival, giving an overview of the event and showcasing performances. Here’s acclaimed singer-songwriter Simon Hardeman with his ‘tiger-themed’ set, the glorious Kelly Paige, the very talented Third Candidate and super-cute impromptu additions George & Elise, supported by Robbie Boyd of the irresistible Robbie Boyd Band.

WGSN at Pure Spirit | 2011                      
Commissioned to produce and edit a short video showcasing WGSN’s presence at key fashion tradeshow, Pure Spirit. WGSN are the world’s leading trend forecasters.

Commissioned to produce and edit two short videos showcasing WGSN’s presence at key fashion tradeshow, Pure London and giving the highlights of the WGSN Trend Edit presentation.

Global Fashion Awards | 2011
Directed & edited two videos interviewing the chief organisers of the 2011 GLAs on this year’s judging panel and why people should enter the awards.

Unforgiven Hearts | 2010-2011
Assisted the director in planning, re-writing, shooting and editing this bleak but beautiful short film about the devastating effects of betrayal.

The dakini Tiger Campaign | 2010 – 2011   
The brief for this no-budget, internet-based charity campaign from media company dakini was to produce a series of campaign update videos and web clips that would appeal to a younger audience, using only the most rudimentary of camera equipment and a distinctly handmade, guerrilla feel to the edit. Included stop animation and engaging with the public. I also oversaw the development of the website, project managed the social media campaign and wrote (nearly) all blog posts.

dakini Media | 2010 – 2011

Project Manager, developing & overseeing projects for books, films, documentaries and online projects. Also implemented dakini’s social media strategy, including writing copy for blogs and websites and instigating collaborative Twitter-based writing project the “Tiger Tale”. Contributors included Booker Prize winning author Marget Atwood.

Varsity Newspaper | 2007 – 2008

Columnist in the ‘Comment’ section of the Cambridge University newspaper, writing on topical political and social issues. I was recommended by the editor for The Guardian Student Journalist of the Year Award.

Lovechild Productions | 2005

Co-wrote, devised and performed in a production entitled Education, Education, Education for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2005. Three Weeks awarded the show five stars and The Scotsman commended our ‘accomplished performances’ and ‘production as polished as many professional ones’.

Channel 4 Television | 2003

Undertook an Production Assistant internship in the Creative department. Responsible for: writing voiceover scripts, presenting and developing ideas for trailers, editing assistance, researching relevant material, planning and assisting with filming, auditioning/ directing actors and voice over artists. After a very successful two weeks, I was invited to extend my internship to cover a bigger upcoming production.
